Veloso seals move to GenoaSoccer Betting Lines07/30/2010 - Genoa, Italy (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Genoa has agreed to a deal that will bring them midfielder Miguel Veloso from Sporting Lisbon, it was confirmed by the Portuguese club on Friday. The 24-year-old Veloso has been linked with a number of teams across Europe, but Genoa has finally won out as they will send midfielder Alberto Zapater the other way. "Sporting have reached an agreement in principle with Genoa for the transfer of Miguel Veloso and the acquisition of Alberto Zapater, with the consent of both players," a statement from Sporting said. Veloso was a member of Portugal's World Cup team in South Africa, where he made two appearances, while he has also earned 14 caps in total for his country.

There is some real talent amassing on this team offensively, as the combination of QB Matt Stafford, RB Jahvid Best, WR Calvin Johnson, and TE Brandon Pettigrew should put a bunch of points on the board if the offensive line can even remotely hold up. The questions really lie on defense, where it feels like DT Ndamukong Suh is going to be trying to stop opposing teams all by himself. This year should show some marked improvement in the Motor City.
